Chronic Fatigue
Chinese medicine is an effective tool for addressing CFS (Chronic Fatigue Syndrome). Our clinic emphasizes creating a balance of Qi, or energy, within the body and its various organ systems to address the root causes of CFS. By analyzing the specific symptoms of CFS with traditional Chinese medicine, we work with our patients to discover which organ systems need strengthening and/or clearing toxins especially of the liver, intestine, lung and kidney.
We have found that common patterns associated with chronic fatigue include Spleen Qi deficiency, Liver Qi stagnation, Kidney deficiency, Yin deficiency, Heat toxicity, and Phlegm obstruction/dampness. Conditions like latent heat and dampness can result from prolonged viral infections, emotional stress, or external pathogenic factors, leading to organ imbalances. Acupuncture and herbal treatments can help reduce inflammation and fortify Qi. We work with specific acupuncture points and herbal combinations to harmonize affected systems. Our herbal remedies can provide nutrients beyond what diet alone offers, particularly in terms of cooling heat and tonifying organs, which are crucial for regaining strength and energy. The duration of acupuncture treatment’s effectiveness for chronic fatigue varies depending on the individual’s CFS history and the depth of organ system involvement. Our treatments have a cumulative effect, strengthening over time and through multiple sessions.
